My Bachelor's degree is from Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, Louisiana in Health & Physical Education.

My Master's degree is from Arkansas State University, University City, Arkansas in Curriculum & Instruction.

I began my teaching career in a general math class for a year and then switched to PE while coaching girls volleyball and softball.

After these 3 years we had our 1st child and then felt called to the mission field.

We, my husband and I, spent 1 year in intensive Spanish language learning. We then worked in Spanish-speaking countries for 10+ years.  In-between we spent 2 years in the ex-Soviet Union country of Kazakhstan.

My teaching career began again after my family returned to the U.S.  I have been teaching Spanish for 17 years in various states.

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español 1 y exploratorio!

Welcome to Spanish 1 and Spanish Rotation!

See GOOGLE Classroom for all class information!!!

My name is Sra. Allen or as the students in Spanish-speaking schools would call their teacher, "Miss".  I am very happy to be a Husky!

I grew up with 5 siblings in South Louisiana.  I enjoy reading inspirational fiction and antiquiing on the weekends with my husband.  I also enjoy cooking and eating cajun food; crawfish is my favorite.  My other favorite thing about Louisiana is the New Orleans Saints.  I started cheering for them in their 1st year of being in the NFL.

I met Brian, my husband, while going to Nicholls State University.  After graduating we were married.  We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.  They live in Ohio, North Carolina, and Louisiana.  Our youngest was born in Mexico City, Mexico.

After living in 3 foreign countries we returned to the United States.  That is when I began teaching Spanish.

I hope that you, my students, enjoy learning another language.  You never know where life may bring you!  I never thought that a little country girl like myself would have been to and lived in the places that I have.  ¡Hasta Pronto!  See you soon!
